Pale (2022-)
Pale (working title) examines darkness and interstitial space as a living connective tissue and a natural, organic architectural impulse–the inherentness of ‘negative space’ and the energy flows within it–using Baltimore and Maryland at large as a microcosm. The photos draw comparisons between Baltimore’s underground river systems, limestone Karst caves in the Appalachian Mountains, and the veins/pores of the body, including its blood and excrement.
